Welcome to our final newsletter of this academic year - what an incredible first year it has been!
Attendance to date continues to be a fantastic 96%. Thank you so very much for your support. Every day your child attends, they are learning and this is evident in the amazing progress and achievement that every child made this year. Here are some of the highlights that we would like to share with you in this newsletter from the past two weeks.

Maple Reception - The class of 2025

In Drawing Club last week, the children read and used the text 'Not Now Bernard' as the stimulus for their writing. Using the vocabulary "gobble", the children designed and wrote about a monster to eat Mum and Dad. They also designed and wrote about something that the monster would eat to take away the taste of Bernard.

This week in Drawing Club, we chose a text that would compliment the Fierte Arts Festival Week - The Day the Crayons Quit.

Tamworth Arts Festival - A Kaleidoscope of Dreams
On Saturday 5th July, seventeen super-excited Reception Maple dancers and their families attended the 'Kaleidoscope of Dreams' festival at Tamworth Castle Grounds. It was a privilege to watch the children dance to 'Uptown Funk' on the stage, smiling from ear to ear, bursting with confidence whilst having so much fun. A huge thank you must be said to Miss Phoebe (Pip's amazingly talented daughter) for choreographing the routine and giving up so much of her time to coming to school to teach the children.
A truly wonderful day was had by all. Thank you for supporting this event with your child.

Fierte Arts Festival Week
Inspired by the performance on Saturday, our learning about art, music and dance continued this week.
In art, we recalled how to mix primary colours to make secondary colours.
In maths, we have used colourful shapes to build patterns and make pictures.
We enjoyed listening to various different genres of music and dancing to it using our colourful scarves.
We watched and joined in with a live-streamed ballet from the Royal Opera House in London.

Using patterns from around the world, we have imitated these to make our own.
Mrs Guild, Miss Wright and Mrs Jennings helped us to make our own ribbons to dance with.
After lots of sewing practice, we finally and independently made our very own bookmarks!

We would like to thank the kind people who work at Natwest Bank who volunteered for two days to help clear, tidy and make our Forest School area accessible for the children to enjoy. We are overjoyed with the outcome, and you can see how much the children enjoy using this area of school by their faces. We cannot thank you enough for your time, kindness and professionalism.
